BW Grabs a Nomination!

Barewitness Players and friends at premiere screening of The Grab
Barewitness Players and friends enjoyed an enthusiastic reception of our film The Grab at its premiere screening at Clay Theatre in June.

As part of the 48 Hour Film Project San Francisco, our little movie has now been nominated for an award!

Best Use of Line

In this weekend competition, each film team is given the same character, prop and line of dialog, all of which must be incorporated into a four to seven minute movie. It’s up to the filmmakers to make each element work in their film. And we did!

If you don’t already know the assigned line, have a watch and see if you can figure it out.

The Grab represents our sixth entry into the annual mad dash contest, and pulled in our seventh award nomination.

Directed by Kerry Gudjohnsen, who also acted in the film, The Grab features Matthew Gardner, Marie Hay, Stan Stone and Mark Rachel in perhaps his most challenging role.

The beautiful cinematography is the work of Jeff Baker, who along with Matthew Gardner, also edited the film. The off screen cast of players includes Anna Osada, Elle Van Natta, John Teixeira, Glenda Solis and Jan Probst.

Still wondering what that line of dialog might be? You can find the answer here:
